Alyss Thomas MSC
I have been practising psychotherapy for over twenty five years. I say practising, because there is always something new to learn about the human heart, our psyches, how we relate, how we learn, and how we can change. Along the way, I have learned coaching, mentoring, tutoring and teaching skills.
I have worked in both the public sector and private practice. I now work in private practice in order to provide a peaceful and spacious ambience where there is time for you.
I teach on psychotherapy MA programmes, and I offer coaching, mentoring and supervision. I have found teaching to be a very good way to learn my craft more thoroughly over the years. I have been involved in the psychotherapy profession in many capacities. I also write self-help guides and articles.
My qualifications include a Diploma in Core Process Psychotherapy from the Karuna Institute, a Diploma in Group Analysis from the Institute of Group Analysis, and a Master’s degree in Counselling, Training and Supervision from the University of Bristol. I am a member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and I am accountable to their code of ethics and complaints procedures.
I belong to the Humanistic and Integrative College of UKCP, and my approach is a blend of psychodynamic, integrative and mindfulness models. I attune to your particular needs in working with you, and I work with each person a bit differently.
You are unique, and I welcome all kinds of people in my practice. Whatever your age, lifestyle, culture, sexuality or gender – my desire is to see you for who you are and support you to shine.
